Formerly Poundsgate Pottery, Steph Edwards has been creating unique ceramics ever since an early encounter with clay at school, immediately falling in love with the versatility of the medium.
Opting for a hand-built approach, Steph crafts every piece’s unique texture, re-purposing everyday materials, burning away found items and organic materials at high temperatures to create rugged textures, imbuing each piece with a sense of history, reminiscent of the effects of time and aging.
These textural details are further accentuated with oxide washes and painted on slips while features are highlighted with glaze.
Finally, each piece is fired to 1240 °C ensuring they are fully frost-proof, standing strong all seasons among the abundant and ever-changing life of the garden.
